Of course we're aware that most of our clients never will work cattle or rope steers, but this training program results in outstanding horses for all seasons and crcumstances.

Training
Above a three year old gelding is tichnically getting trained for roping on a dummy steer towed by a quad. Under a mare is ridden for the sixth time, pretty well bending in a small circle smoothly responding the reins. (Saddle and reins are a quite hybrid combination of a McCarty with a light swell fork saddle. This saddle was the one I used at first saddling and I kept on using it in the first stage of ten sessions.) An integrated Traditional Training Program: Learning While Working. We're quite traditional and start horses at three up to four years old.We take our time and preparation to break young horses, and already in an early stage we take them in the outdoors and introdcuce them to ranch work. The advantage of a nature area is that we can combine riding skills and outdoor experience for the young pupils. After a couple of weeks we introduce them slowly into the traffic. First at surroundings where vehicles are rare items, and slowly building up towards the trucks and tractors at big farms up to the traffic hell at the bus terminal at St-Job in 't Goor. If you ever feel bored, come taking a look when we have a ball with a four year old, three double length busses and a bunch of scooters. Indeed, people take pictures! We train our horses body control, collection, speed control in all gaits, stops, backing up, lead changes, stops,... I also introduce them to cattle and the rope in an early stage. We're aware that all these qualities are not strictly required by recreational riders, but they are extremely usefull. It makes a horse a better working horse: more reliable and easy to ride.

This horse is an allround ranch work trained horse. His versatility makes him even suitable for entertainment jobs and special events. Here at the press conference of the Limburg Tourist Board in a tent.
This is Chico. He is a real great assistant in the making of cool horses. He helps taking away defensiveness, he is a 'trailer aid', he helps in the making swift movers, he sometimes plays the role of a roping 'subject' .. you name it... and... he loves to work day and night.
